Small Commercial Vehicle- VEER at Rs. 3.30 lakh by Hindustan Motors

A new small commercial utility vehicle (SCV) is launched in Kolkata by India’s most trusted and renowned automobile manufacturers Hindustan Motors Ltd. (HM). It’s named VEER and it said to be just about 800kg in weight.

“We have honoured our commitment by launching VEER. More new vehicles will follow suit. These will come both from our Uttarpara plant in West Bengal, where we manufacture the iconic Ambassador and other vehicles, and our Chennai facility where we build the Mitsubishi range of vehicles. Our bouquet of offerings is set to expand at a fast pace due to our reinforced emphasis on new product development,” was told to the media by Manoj Jha, HM’s Managing Director. Other than this, the Chairman of the company, Mr. C.K. Birla has announced the launch of new stream of vehicles by HM at their Annual General meeting which was held on 4th of this month.

It does not only look like an ambassador from front but is also made on the base of Ambassador. Required changes have been made in it to make it suitable as a sturdy carrier vehicle to carry heavy loads. VEER is made available in two models- VEER and VEER LX varying between diesel (BS III) and CNG (BS IV) versions. The two models slightly differ in the fact that the Load tray in VEER is separate whereas in VEER LX the Load tray is seemingly attached with the front cabin. What is more comforting and attractive about this SCV is that there is three-seat bench in the front cabin which makes it rank higher in comfort level as opposed to other cars of this category.

VEER is going to be an easy maintenance low cost vehicle as this Ambassador hybrid is going to have easily available parts. What’s more it is that with front cabin attached well, it is also prepared to be used a drive-away chassis (DAC). The Hindustan Motors has disclosed that it plans top bring out more vehicles in this financial year, similar to these concepts. Currently the colors introduced are marshal cream and stack brown and is intended to be propagated in East India and later cover pan-India. The inaugural price (ex-showroom Kolkata) for the Month of August for diesel VEER is stated 3.30lakh.
