Force Cars in India

Formed in 1958, the not much known Force brand actually laid the cornerstone of Indian automobile industry as we know it today. The brain child of freedom fighter NK Firodia, Force was envisioned to help the country achieve sustainability through industrial advancement. Today, it manufactures three wheelers, MUVs, LCVs, tractors, buses, etc. It was registered as Firodia Tempo Limited, but the name got changed to Bajaj Tempo limited after it was acquired by Bajaj Auto to a certain extent.
Force is the company which gave India some of its most recalled motor vehicles in history – tempo, matador and moped. It is said that Firodia saw the plight of the manual rickshaw drivers in Mumbai to create the modern auto rickshaw. It was demonstrated in front of the then Indian Prime Minister. The three-wheeled tempos and matadors were brought into the market as light commercial vehicles.
As per figures released in the market, the company made domestic sales of 53 SCVs, 589 LCVs, 609 UV and SUVs and 254 tractors in 2013. The company was also in a long term relationship with Dailmer Benz, which ended in 2001. Some of the known Force cars are Force One, Force Gurkha and Force Viano.
