Premier Cars in India

PAL or Premier Automotive Limited is a vehicle manufacturing unit based out of Pune, India.
The company first started manufacturing cars in 1944 after acquiring license from Dodge and Plymouth. In the year 1951, however, it started production of the Fiat 500 version solely for the Indian market. In 1954, it was followed by the production of Fiat 1100. In this year, Fiat, for the first time used the manufacturers name for the first time on their vehicles along with their brand name.
Premier continued manufacturing the Fiat 1100 without any changes well into the 1990's as Premier Padmini. Later it introduced other models like
Premier 118NE, which was again a version of Fiat's 1960 model 124. It was then considered a luxury car in India, until the late influx of other luxury brands.
