Yamaha YZF R15

Yamaha YZF R15 is specially designed for Indian market. Yamaha YZF R15 truly reflects the "R" design reflects the Yamaha trademark in its series of sports bike and further ratifies its excellent performance.

A powerful bike in the under 200cc range which has 6 speed Transmission and with a 149.8cc Fuel Injected liquid cooled engine which produces17bhp with maximum torque of 15 Nm at 7500rpm, is sure to set a trend for future bikes in the Indian motorcycle segment.

The Yamaha YZF- R 15 is fitted with disc brake in the front and drum brake at the back and 80/90, 17 inch tubeless tyres in the front and 100/80 17 inch tubeless tyres at the rear. These fittings make driving down curves and traffic infested streets a smooth and hitch free drive while on the Yamaha YZF R15. Some of the other features of Yamaha YZF R15 which need to be noted include 150cc 4 valve engine with forged pistons - first in India, 6 speed gear box, Delta box frame. The engine is fitted with an all aluminum cylinder called the DiASil Cylinder and a forged piston which is used in sports bike produced by Yamaha. These fittings improve fuel efficiency and eliminate the heat induced engine power loss.

Yamaha's YZF-R15 has been designed on the basis of having an excellent engine cooling method. The shape of the cowling area are designed for maximum radiator efficiency. The mid cowl area is so designed for a voluminous shape image.

For making the bike more fuel efficient, the fuel injector of Yamaha YZF R15 is provided with 3 litre air cleaner for improving the inward flow of air and a hemispherical 4-valve combustion chamber for better intake/exhaust efficiency.

With a price more towards Rs 1 lakh, the Yamaha YZF R15 has too face stiff competition with the four wheeler automobiles in the same price range bracket which will soon hit the Indian automobile market especially the Tata Nano.
