The Hero group has been able to give people what the Indian customers want the most, a fuel efficient yet powerful 100 cc motorcycle. The company was able to roll out its first motorcycle CD 100 with in two years of the collaboration in the year 1985. In due course of time hero honda has been able to achieve an indigenization of about 95%. hero honda introduced the splendor in 1994 which has gone on to become one of the most popular two-wheeler in the history of two-wheelers in this country.

The company has also introduced the premium segment in motorcycles with the hero honda CBZ; the bike with an engine displacement of 156 cc could climb up to 100 kmph under 6 seconds. The bike has a top speed of 120 kmph which was capable of beating most two wheelers which were on the roads then.
The company once again redefined standards in two-wheeler engine technology by introducing, a 125 cc 'next-generation' engine in the country. The futuristic Quantum Core engine, developed specially for the Indian customer, powers hero honda's new offering, the Super splendor. The 125cc Quantum Core engine, perfected after a series of refinements, offers the customers an unprecedented combination of top-class fuel-efficiency and high power.
The company has also entered the scooterette segment by introducing Pleasure which the company claims is designed specifically keeping the women customers in mind. It has broader seats, larger boot space and puncture resistant tyres to keep in mind the comfort and convenience of the fairer sex.
The company has also taken biking to a different level altogether with its premium bike Karizma. Karizma hero honda motorcycles has 223 cc engine and can notch up speeds up to 125 kmph without a hiccup. It can clock a speed of about 100 kmph in less than 4 seconds.
