The Bugatti Veyron tops the list of most expensive cars available in the market. This fastest accelerating car can reach 97kmph in as little as 2.6 seconds. With a top speed of 407kmph, this coupe is priced at $1,700,000.

Next on the list is the most powerful and most expensive car built by Lamborghini, which is the Reventon. Priced at $1,600,000, this little one takes 3.3 seconds to reach a speed 97kmph. However, in terms of top speed, this car lacks far behind Veyron at just 339kmph. Its rarity and slick design are responsible for the vehicle’s exorbitant cost.

In 1994, McLaren F1 was the fastest and most expensive car. Despite being built 15 years ago, this coupe has a top speed of 386kmph and can touch 97kmph in just 3.2 seconds, 200kmph in 7.6 seconds and 300kmph in 30 seconds. Priced at $970,000, it was the fastest car in the world until Bugatti Veyron was introduced.

It still leaves me spell bound when I visualize someone would actually spend 8 million dollars on a car instead of investing it in something more productive. However, on second thoughts, if you have that kind of money, you will have plenty of such opportunities knocking on your door and certainly you wouldn’t mind spending a small fraction of that large fraction of bills you own, on placing a few of these super cars in your garage.
