TATA Indigo Mileage, Average & Fuel Economy

The TATA Indigo GLS & GLX model provides a mileage of 10 and 15.8 km per litre of petrol respectively, while driving through the city. The LS, LS Dicor & LX model provides a mileage of 11.5, 13.0 & 12.0 km per litre of diesel respectively, while driving through the city.

TATA Indigo Power

The petrol versions have a displacement of 1396 cc and produce a maximum power of 62.3 BHP @ 5500 RPM along with a total torque generation of 115 Nm @ 3000 RPM. The diesel versions have a displacement of 1405 cc and produce a maximum power of 52 BHP @ 4500 RPM along with a total torque generation of 135 Nm @ 2500 RPM.

TATA Indigo Acceleration & Pickup

The TATA Indigo features a top speed of 155 kmph and can be achievable in 0-20 s. The number of gears present is 5 forward and 1 reverse. These are all manually transmitted. The maximum power that is achievable is around 62.3 BHP at 5500 RPM for the petrol operated vehicles and is around 52 BHP at 45oo BHP for the diesel operated ones.

The TATA Indigo comes in mostly two designed types. One is a unique looking sedan and another is the station wagon style. However, this is the article where we are discussing about the sedan variant which was the primary launched vehicle in the category of Indigo. The sedan is fitted with five doors and has a total capacity of five passengers to accommodate including the driver. The exterior experience is not like the age old sedans available in the market. Rather it has a shape which can be considered a little smaller than the other sedans. This makes the TATA Indigo a more parking friendly car, which can be easily parked without taking up much of the spaces.

However, the outer sleek and compact design doesn’t have any adverse effect to the interior space allotment. The interiors are quiet spacious and comfortable. The exterior is fitted with body colored bumpers which are wraparound, alloy wheels, body colored door handles and external mirror. Moreover the front side is fitted with tear drop head lights, and ever smiling front grille. The windshield glass that is present can be best described as shatter resistant in nature. The total number of passengers that can be accommodated on the rear seat is 3 while the front can accommodate 2 passengers which includes the driver. The interiors are much spacious with ample leg and head space. However, observing the car from outside will not make you feel about the spacious interiors present. TATA Indigo Wheels

The presence of alloy wheels with stylized inner rims (stainless steel made) can be seen fitted on the TATA Indigo. The wheel measurement is 5J x 14” while the tyres fitted are of 175/65 R 14 type.

TATA Indigo Braking and Handling

The car is fitted with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The transaxle is sliding mesh on the reverse and synchromesh on the forward. Four front gears along with a single reverse gear system is aviaalble with the car.

The TATA Indigo consists of spore spoke power steering wheel with four front gear speeds and one reverse gear. Stereo and audio system is available only at some selected models. However, there is a slot for them to get attached. Other accessories include socket for mobile charger and cigarette lighter, internal antenna and vanity mirrors fitted at the sun-visor.
