The TATA Indica V2 is the latest product from the house of TATA automobiles and is listed among the top fuel efficient hatchback cars available currently in India that generates a mileage of 25 km/litre. And this is not my words, but this has been certified by the automotive research association of India. This is the cheapest hatchback available in terms of facility and mileage is concerned. However, the diesel variant is a bit more expensive than the petrol variant of Indica V2.
Considered to be the best hatchback to come out from the house of TATA, the Indica V2 features smooth driving experience due to the presence of MPFI petrol or CR4 Common Rail Diesel engines. TATA Indica V2 Mileage, Average and Fuel Economy
Tata Indica V2 offers an impressive mileage of around 13.6 km/litre of diesel while driving within the city and 17.2 km/litre of diesel while driving through the highways. This is the old BS3 model that I am talking about. However, the recently launched BS4 models feature mileage of around 14.5 km/litre of diesel while driving through the city roads and a whooping 19 km/litre of diesel while running through the highway. The BS4 models are fitted with more powerful and fuel efficient engine that helps in making the car much more approachable by the people.

The original Tata Indica V2 model is fitted with a diesel BS3 engine that has a 1.4 cc displacement, and produces a power of 53.5 Ps at 5500 rpm. The maximum torque that is generated is 85 Nm at 2500 rpm. The presence of manual 5 speed gearbox allows it to reach a top speed of 137 km/hr while the acceleration and pickup features reaching 100 km/hr speed limit within 22.4 seconds.

Other accessories include Bluetooth connectivity, digital clock and tachometer. It is only this tachometer which is present at all the models that runs on diesel.
