Volvo Cars in India
Sweden based Volvo group is a leading supplier of commercial vehicles. It was first incorporated as a subsidiary of AB SKF in 1915, which was a Swedish ball bearing manufacturer. The auto maker, however, manufactured its first car Volvo OV 4 Series on 14 April 1927, when it was officially founded. It first rolled out of the factory in Hisingen, Gothenburg. The company was first registered as separate company within SKF in 1911. The name Volvo means ''I roll''. It was first started with the vision of creating a car which could withstand the rough road and the cold climate of Sweden. Since then it has become a trademark feature of all Volvo products. In the year 1999, however, the car division of the brand was sold to Ford group for $6.45 billion.
