car is very nice but AC is very nice like a costly cars. but the car is very bumpy than maruti 800 also in ac there is no pickup.

I purchsed this car on finance of 2.55 lacs giving EMI of 5649/ but after purchased I found this very cramp from inside very small boot space specially very poor pickup in ac oh. I purchased it for time being to as I wanted to purchase Swift VDI but its waiting was long so I purchased Alto LXI as I heard its average is very good, but with AC on around 90% I am getting average of around less then 12 in city driving after first service Maruti service center works manager says in AC on versas AC off average difference is 4 to 5 km.But in big cars I thing droop of average in AC OFF & ON is 1.5 to 2 km only. I think average of around 12 km are of Wagnor or Estilo too now I am regretting why I have not purchased Wagonr or Estilo as its power & space both are more as compared to Alto. I could get above cars in around EMI. Of 1200/ per month more but………….. For small family like HAM DO HARAE DO Alto LXI is very good car its power starring is very good .Pickup is very good with AC off I drive till Shimla & loved its power starring on hilly road. I found with AC off around 60% city & 40% highway average is around 18 to 19.

if comparing with motor bikes car is really good as the fuel consumption is same as motorbikes like pulsar or cbz but comfort is un comparable

The vehicle fuel consumption is more than the company claims. It gives average between 14-16 kmpl without ac and 12-14 kmpl with ac on highways which is much lower than the other cars in the same segment. Even the 1000 cc cars gives this average. To add more when complaints is lodged with maruti is is not being attended by the service engineers of maruti posted at various head quarters. In stead of attending the customers they seems to be employee of dealer in their area.

The front look of the car is so nice looking smily face Leg space is better than Maruti 800. As far as per km average is concern best average and for a small family it is prefarable FINALLY ALTO IS ALTO NO MORE..

I bought an ALTO in the year of 2006 as if now i didnt spend a money for any thing extra for the maintainance of the car it is a zero maintainace car really really a very good car on indian roads with good lloking great mileage and excellent A/C i only found the A/C is getting chilled in 40 secs amazing amazing i suggest every one to go for an ALTO apart from any other car really a wonderful car go for this

I had bought my Alto LXi in October 2007, and it has been driven more than 10k. I had chosen this car after comparing a few ones like:- a) Wagon-R (rejected because of crude gear-shift and price) b) Santro (rejected because of percieved high cost of maintenance) c) Spark (rejected because of suspect after sales support) d) Zen (rejected because its a truely horrible car) e) Indica Zeta (rejected on the basis of reviews read) I stay in western Pune, and drive my car in highway like conditions for 60% of times and 40% of times in city like conditions. Some observations about the car:- 1) With my driving pattern, I had been getting an average of 18.5 - 21 KMPL consistently (inlcuding driving with AC on) 2) Handling of the car is amazing. For its size, the car feels much more sturdy than it may look. You can depend on the car while on long trips, and on bad roads. (I had once driven it more than 700 kms without stop) 3) Never buy any accessory from the service center. Anything you get as a genuine accessory, you may get a better material outside at 1/3rd the cost. 4) The enigne noise has been quite audible since I bought. Maruti service center says that its normal, however, the enigne noise is louder than even an Maruti-800 5) Unlike popular belief, the maintenance has not been low. My three free services had already cost me over 3,500. If you insist on just paying the labour, all you get is a car-wash. (So, better pay up what they ask for, or else...) 6) Maruti service for this car is not good. I get jerks moving from second to third gear, and the rear seat squeakes when there is passanger load in the rear seat. Complaints to service center does no good, since they don\'t know how to get that right 7) The built in head-lights are pathetic. Don\'t drive around on highways with it, and a decent fitment outside. (Would cost you around Rs 800) 8) When driving in a scenario which requires you to apply brakes often, do not use AC. Apart from draining out power while picking up, or on speeds, the car breaks bhave nastily if the AC is on. 9) The car is best driven with the rear passanger seats empty. (Yeah... the lack of power beings to frustrate you if the car is fully loaded) 10) If in Pune, stay away from Sai Service if you intend to buy/service a maruti product. In a nutshell, its a nice car for a small, economy concious family. If you can stretch a bit more, i10/Santro should be it. Actually, I would strongly recommend a Santro because of its brilliant packaging and value. You may get a pre-owned almost new Santro for the price of a new Alto. I heard A-Star (with a 1 litre engine) is going to replace Alto soon... Perspective buyers better wait for that.

best car in its class, but A/c on pickup gone speed is limited to 120Km/hr and in this speed breaks are really blunk, maruti has to think not only in economy but also in quality In milleage iam getting 22km/litre with 2person in car

alto is a excellent city car. its steering is light.power stering helps quite a lot. it can be parked in any placehowever small may be the space. alto also goes upto 18 -20 km on highway and about 15km in city. service crntre for alto can be found at any part of india.

I purchased this car on 22 Mar 2002 - 6 nd half year back . till 4 years there was no problem apart from normal wear and tear . always this car was sent to authorised Matuti Show room . Once 5 year instalments were paid I thought that atleast I could stay without problem . On this 6Th September08 , I had a Engine seizer due oil pump failure , the car had done 74290 km . as maruti gives 80,000 km or 4 year - is the catch ...... Maruti failed to even compensate for any of my losses and i was made to pay 30.000 inr for repair - from competant moters. The work shop manager statement the life for engine - is only 80,000 km and i had utilised the full operation ... In my opinion - do not buy Alto or any Maruti product . as the company does not care for its customers , inspite of writng Mail to its management , no body has bother to call . Really i love my alto ... A gud car which is a value for money spent. I really suggest all my friends who are ready to buy a car to consider an alto first and then proceed.... You must consider these also when buying an alto .. 1) Try to buy the LXi version with power steering .. It is cool to drive with the power steering ...... I had a thought that LX would do just because the 800 STD did not have a Power steering and was going cool.......But i d realise it now to have an LXi rather than a LX.. 2) The AC is really cool one ...... but try to fix KN auto filter so that your vehicle will not drain power when the AC is on...it will help to a certain extend.. 3) Try to spend some bugs on the interior carpets

I brought this car in 2001 & it has done 72000 plus, still giving 18-21.2kmpl on highways (with Ac) with my family of four on board. performance is great too, considering its 796cc power plant.

Maruti Suzuki Alto- a car of low budget. This car is good for a person who has limited budget as this car needs low maintenance. But I am not satisfied with this car. The gear is hard to move and seats are not that comfortable. And if I talk about air condition, then it is better to open the windows. Though this car is equipped with a 796 cc, 3 cylinder engine, generating maximum power of 47 bhp at 6200 rpm but still it is not much satisfactory. I am planning to sell it soon.

Recently, I bought this car on the influence of my family members. Initially, I was apprehensive about it\'s performance, however it really surprised me. It\'s 796cc engine serves up 62 Nm of torque and 46.3 bhp worth of power . When it comes to riding quality, it is extremely comfortable and pleasant. Believe me, buying it helped me save a lot of money on the maintenance part. Stylish interiors and excellent fuel economy makes me a proud owner of this small yet classy car.
