Jaguar Cars in India

Headquartered in Coventry, England, the car manufacturer was founded by Sir William Lyons in 1922 as Swallow Sidecar Company that originally manufactured motorcycle sidecars before it switched to production of passenger vehicles. The name was changed to Jaguar after World War II due to unfavorable connotations of the SS initials. Following several changes of ownership, Jaguar was acquired by Ford Motor Company in 1989. Later in 2008, Tata Motors took over the ownership of the British luxury car manufacturer and since then has been proffering its Indian customers sumptuous models like XJ, XF and XK.
