Hyundai Santa Fe Interiors

Interior Appearance and comfort

The overall feel of the cabin is very pleasing. It is very gripping, the overall luxurious interiors, the wood tones combined with an aluminum inserts and blue lightening. There is a multifunction steering wheel with audio controls and cruise control, plenty of 12 volt sockets. The driver also gets a 8 way power adjustable seats and a shift indicator. There is a dual zone fully automatic A/C on the cards with a cluster ionizer that prevents bacteria growth. The center armrest gets a cooler and aux, ipod and usb inserts are standard. The third row of seats is strictly for people under 5 feet but the first and second row seats are large with ample legroom.

The stereo offers exceptional sound quality with 6 speakers, tweeters, woofer and amplifier and the multi display houses the trip and the distance to empty meters.

Engine Capacity and Performance

The Hyundai Santa Fe comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, a 2.2 liter CRDi diesel engine that produces 197 ps of power at 3800rpm and 42.9 kgm of torque between 1800 to 2500 rpm. The Euro V engine of Hyundai Santa Fe has also been endowed with 4 cylinders and 16 valves with DOHC (Double Over Head Camshafts) that offer clear emissions and amazing torque figures. The engine boasts an overwhelming response in city as well as the highway and never feels out of breath. The distinctive flat torque curve and linear power delivery make it a very drivable car. The slick transmission just like the i-20 helps handle the minimal turbo lag minimized by the EVGT(Electronic variable geometry turbo).

Wheels

The Santa Fe comes with stylish 18inch alloys with a tyre size of 235/60 and a silica based compound that offers better traction and grip. Apart from giving the car a terrific stance they offer stability on off road conditions and cornering.

Braking and Handling

The Hyundai Santa Fe comes with ABS(Anti lock braking system) and EBD(electronic brake force distribution) taken over by ventilated discs in the front and solid discs in the rear. To help the handling of the car, there is ESP(electronic stability program) that corrects the SUVish bodyroll. The rather crisp handling is also taken care of by the suspension that is Macpherson struts in the front and multilink suspension in the rear. Since it has an intelligent all-wheel drive system, the Santa Fe provides torque to all four wheels only when the sensors detect loss of grip.

Also the steering is well weighted but lacks a little feedback as compared to other cars in the segment like the CRV that offers feedback.

Handling and Safety

The Hyundai Santa Fe is a very safe car with a host of safety features including 6 airbags which include driver airbag with passenger detection system, curtain airbags and front side airbags. ESP(Electronic stability program), Rollover sensor(a system that senses car rolls and activates side and curtain airbags),active headrests(that sense a rear collision and move forward to minimize head and neck injury), ABS+EBD for better anti skid braking particularly in wet surfaces, impact sensing door unlock to prevent occupant lockout in case of collision, silica tyres for better grip in wet conditions and better fuel efficiency, height adjustable seat belts, driver seat belt warning, door courtesy lamp for the dark areas. All these features make it a very safe car on the road and make the driver as well as the passengers feels relaxed in a 2 ton mass of metal.

Stereo and Accessories

In the stereo on the Hyundai Santa Fe, there is a 6 cd changer with mp3 in dash with usb, ipod and aux connectivity. The stereo offers exceptional sound quality with 6 speakers, tweeters, woofer and amplifier. The driver gets audio controls on the steering wheel.

There is also a dual zone fully automatic A/C with plasma cluster filter that comes in our home A/Cs for a bacteria free atmosphere with second and third row vents and independent controls for the third row passengers so that they dont feel left out which usually happens in large SUVs.
