Being the world's second largest populated country, there is no doubt that India has a great potential in economical terms and the impact that it will have on the automotive market is expected to be huge. Already equipped with a well-developed components industry and a production capacity of around one million four-wheelers and five million two and three wheelers, this industry is poised for an exponential growth in the near future. Furthermore, India's mass production skills coupled with strong research and development (R&D) and software development workforce promise to be the pillars of strength on which its future is secure. Thus, it remains to be seen when and how this industry marches ahead for its augmentation process and how far it succeeds in its endeavor.
