Heavy Commercial Vehicles Models Awaited

Heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs) are an important component in the Indian transport network. The need and demand for HCVs is continuously on the rise in keeping with the increasing pace of economic growth in India. The major auto makers Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland and others are carrying on with greater thrust on the R&D and new models are worked on and launched. Among the heavy commercial vehicles models awaited are a 49 tonne tractor trailer and a 25-tonne tipper to be launched by Asian Motor Works .

Asian Motor Works (AMW) is a company that specializes in the manufacture of high tonnage of automobiles on a hybrid platform. The prototypes tested by the AMW reportedly been found satisfactory by the industry standards and it proposes to launch the two vehicles in a big way in the near future.

In addition to, the export markets in the neighboring countries are also explored.

The tractor named 4923 is designed to carry 35 tonnes of payload and the demand for this form of vehicle is quite high from steel makers, construction companies, petroleum and two wheeler organizations. The 2523 tipper is especially to be used for the mining operations. Both such HCVs from the Asian Motor Works feature 235 hp Cummins engines and a 9-speed ZF gearbox. The two models are expected to be priced in the range of INR 23-28 lakhs.

AMW has plans to launch a 300 hp tractor called Prime Mover in the next few months too. To promote the marketing and sales of its Heavy commercial vehicles models awaited, the company is in the process of strengthening its sales and dealers networks encompassing the major markets in the country.
