The Chennai-based company has been able to make its presence felt in the Indian HCV segement and given a fair competition to the Tata Motors. With a number of options like Cargo 909, Cargo 1512, Cargo 1614, Comet Tipper, Hippo Tipper and others, Ashok Leyland too is fairly well entrenched in the Indian heavy commercial vehicles market and is continuously working on improved versions and features on its commercial vehicles.
Swaraj Mazda a north Indian commercial automobile manufacturer and is a joint venture with the Japanese auto maker Mazda. The company has launched Super ZT 54 as its HCV which did not do well in the Indian HCV market. Eicher is another heavy commercial vehicles manufacturer with its offerings like Eicher 10.90 which is an upgraded version of its light commercial vehicles like Eicher 10.70.
