Pondicherry in southern part of India has a history attached to it. The French colonial influence has an imprint left on the town that is still evident on the roads and street of Pondicherry. Though industrially the town has not progressed much but the influence of contemporary media and other factors have initiated some significant changes. It is on account of such changes that Pondicherry today has seen a growth in terms of car and automobiles. Maruti as the leading passenger car maker has good number of cars being sold here. However, since the volumes of cars sold in this quite small town of Pondicherry are low, the company has not expanded much over here. |
