Ahmednagar is one of the district towns of Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra. The town is located on the left bank of the Sina River. The town is situated 120 km North East of the industrial city Pune and 120 Km away from another industrial town Aurangabad. Ahmednagar is renowned for producing one of the highest quantities of sugar. The town is also proud to have achieved the status of the birthplace of co-operative movement. It is also a religious town with Shirdi Sai Baba Temple situated in Shirdi which is around 85 km away from Ahmednagar town. Marathi is the main mode of communication in this town. |
