Maharashtra is the most industrialized state in India with a large urban population. Almost all of the major banking and financial institutions are head quartered in its capital Mumbai. A large number of industries have been set up in this state in the sectors of pharmaceutical, petroleum and allied products, wine and engineering goods that contribute heavily towards the GDP of the country. This state is linked with the other neighboring states through national highways that are of truly world class. Many cars of different brands like Mercedes, BMW, Toyota, GM, Mahindra Renault could be easily spotted on its fine roads.
