The state of Karnataka is regarded as one of the major industrialized state in India and its capital Bangalore as the IT capital of the country. Karnataka generates about 50 % of the total revenue of the Information Technology sector and has about 131 IT companies. The software, hardware and the biotechnology industry is growing at a huge rate of about 35 % in this state. Apart from being the IT hub this state also has gold and manganese mines.
