Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is the wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea. Presently HMIL is the second largest and fastest growing car manufacturer of India. There are 34 variants of passenger cars of HMIL in six segments. . These segments are the Santro in the B segment; Getz Prime, i10 in the B+ segmen;, the Accent and Verna in the C segment; the Elantra in the D segment; the Sonata Embera in the E segment and the Tucson in the SUV segment.

In the Calendar year of 2006 HMIL has sold 299,513 cars which is 18.5 percent more than the year 2005's sale. Hyundai Motor is setting up its second plant, which will produce an additional 300,000 units per annum, raising HMIL's total production capacity to 600,000 units per annum by end of 2007. It's B+ segment car I10 has bagged "car of the year" award from various prestigious institutions such as, Autocar India, Auto India, Business Standard Motoring, Car India, Overdrive and Top Gear, and the jury comprising senior most motoring journalists in India.
