Bihar is one of the economically backward states in this part of India. The state has tremendous human and mineral resources yet has failed to grow up. In recent times, Bihar has been seeing enhanced level of economic activities and majority of the towns in the state such as Patna, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Deogarh, Gaya have seen manufacturing and service units being set up here. The automobile companies like the globally acclaimed General Motors (GM) too have seen its Chevrolets and Opels being sold here in good numbers.
