Mid Sized Car Models

A mid sized car is defined differently in different regions of the globe. While in Europe, probably one of the biggest markets for the mid sized cars, it is defined as an " Executive Car " or a " Large Family Car ", in the US, it is treated as an intermediate car , a car having the size between that of a compact and a full sized car. Talking of the models of mid sized cars , one gets to see a variety in terms of design and color along with features. In India, a mid sized car is usually considered a crossover between a big sized and a small car and can accommodate 4-5 persons comfortably.

Some of the popular car manufacturers of mid sized cars in India are Maruti, Tata Motors, Hyundai and Ford.While the Maruti Esteem emerged as the trendsetter in the class of mid sized car segment in India, the Tata Indigo that came up much later however, offered quite a value for money. The Fiat Palio also received a fair bit of attention but lack of adequate dealers' network and positioning of the car, ensured that Fiat remain a fringe players in the vast expanding Indian car market.

The Hyundai Accent however, did make a mark in the Indian mid sized car market. Plush interiors, exciting new features and sleek outlook made Hyundai Accent a hit and a good numbers of them have been exported to the company's exports markets in Asia and Middle East. However, as part of the company's marketing and promotion strategy, the small Hyundai Santro has been positioned as the mainstay in the Indian car market.
