This enthusiastic venture of Maruti Udyog Ltd was aimed to revolutionize the Indian automobile market and scene. With the first car being rolled in 1983 - the model being Maruti 800 which gained immense popularity though most of the car parts were being imported. Filled with enthusiasm, on seeing the overwhelming response,Maruti Suzuki began indigenous production of its components. Soon in was able to manufacture automobiles using the latest technology and equally fuel efficient as well.

Maruti Omni was launched in 1984 as a multi utility vehicle with a 5 person or 8 person seating capacity. At the same time Maruti Omni could also be used to to transport cargo or as an ambulance or family trips to long distances with lots of luggage.

Maruti Gypsy was launched in 1985 as all terrain car, a much required suitable for all types of Indian road terrain and conditions. Surprisingly, still has a loyal fan following and is very much in use these days too.

1990s - Launch of 5 Models

The 1990s decade for Maruti Suzuki could be in a way termed as a decade of successive launches as it had launched at least 5 models in a span of 10 years. The trend could be marked with opening up of the Indian automobile Industry, easy availability of automobile finance and new entrants into automobile manufacturing business

2000s and till Date

From the year 2000 onwards, Maruti has aggressively put its best foot forward and actively put forth various car models. At the same time, Maruti has also spread it sales outlets, service stations and other related outlets all over India. You will be able to gain access to almost 254 sales outlets and 333 dealer workshop spread across the country.
