Fiat Linea

Trying to regain its way through the Indian automobile market, Fiat is all set to launch Fiat Linea in December 2008. Additionally, Fiat has tied up with the Tatas for its Linea venture and gaining a foothold of the Indian Automobile Market while it endeavors to offer stiff competition to Maruti SX4, Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Ford Fiesta. The car is designed to exhume sophistication and elegance along with the classiness of the owner.

The main inspiration of the Fiat Linea has been gained from the Grand Punto. The Linea is thus a 4 door saloon with smooth and elegant body. Entirely designed at Fiat Style Center, the car gives a sporty and an uncluttered look. Slated to have six variants with both diesel (1.3 l) and petrol (1.4 l) engine options For its power, the Fiat Linea may be fitted with either a 1.4 petrol delivering 77 bhp or a 1.3 Multijet diesel with a power output of 90 bhp. There is a third option is a1.4L Turbo T-jet, petrol engine delivering 120 bhp or a much powerful 1.9L JTD engine. The car will also be fitted with manual and automatic gearboxes will be also fitted.

The car is roomier and pretty spacious, apart from the 500 liters luggage compartment. The other dimensions being 4.56 metres in length, 1.73 metres in width, 1.5 metres in height. Apart from that the safety measures are adequately fitted with ABS brakes, EBD - Electronic Brake Distribution and an ESP which helps to control the car on a slope with using the handbrake. For passive safety measures the car is also fitted with air bags too. For a luxurious and pro entertainment variant, the Linea could be fitted with an automatic climate control, Bluetooth system with a USB port, a CD player with MP3 compatibility, cruise control and parking sensors as well.

The price range of the car is quoted to be between Rs. 7 -8 lacs and will be available in 10 different racy color options.
