The BMW 5 series is a mid-size luxury car, the series of which has entered into the fifth generation. This car is sold in sedan as well as touring body variants too. For the power packed performance, the cars can be fitted with two variants viz 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder engine with twin turbochargers producing 300 horsepower in the model 2008 BMW 535i and high precision direct fuel injection with piezo injectors for the optimum performance. On the other hand the 2008 BMW 528i is equipped with inline 3.0 liter 6-cylinder engine that produces 230 horsepower is fitted with Valvetronic technology and aluminum/magnesium construction which make it lightweight. Additionally, there is a provision of No-extra-cost six-speed automatic with new electronic gear selector lever and the Sport Automatic Transmission with shift paddles as an option.
The 550i V-8 is a truly fuel efficient car. The sports trim variant here, offers an Aero Kit modified calibration Sports suspension, 19” wheels, special lumbar support seats, sport exhaust system and Active Roll Stabilization.
The Servotronic feature of BMW 5 series not only aids in steering the car with an optional feature of Active Steering available the steering angle can be adjusted according to the vehicle speed. The BMW’s intelligent xDrive system is available as an alternative to standard rear-wheel drive for a better driving option. This feature gives an extra edge to 528xi, 535xi Sedans and 535xi Sports Wagon better run and flexibility on all types of terrain. Another great driving utility is the Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, which is an innovative system which aids the driver smoothly and conveniently through the journey be it on country roads of major highway routes
